French Connection (FCUK)

Take a romantic journey through exotic lands – the Autumn/Winter collection 2005 for women embraces fashion glamour of 1920's Prague and Eastern Europe with its rich color, clashing patterns and quirky textiles. This season's collection includes cut washed velvets and oversized plaids, embroidered chiffons with 20s style stretch tweed and agora sweaters. The use of beading and sequins is abundant in this collection to illustrate sophistication. Floral prints are soft and faded and look particularly delicate in chiffon and silk. Color is the order of the season. Muted shades of brown, sage green and maroon are mixed with tobacco tones and offset with lilacs. Opulent nightshade and foxglobe mingle with zingy bright and oriental blue competes with flame to the brightest. The men's collection for this season was inspired by the Beat Generation in the 50s and early 60s. There is the re-invention of London drainpipe trousers in the 60s and skinhead polo shirts that create a skinny silhouette. Reminiscent of the ska and 2-tone area are the slim fitting or box jackets over V-necks. Also available are bad-ass graphic prints, corduroy, washed leather and mol eskins, layered over Shetland wool knitwear and earthy colored T-shirts and teamed with faded bleached jeans.

Herringbone pants are worn with bolero style cardigans with a lace trimmed singlet underneath. Fitted and flared skirts look slim and tailored beneath a cotton cashmere wrap around sweater. Colors include shades of purple, burgundy, deep red, pink and warm brown. Also, watch out for the men's collection this season with urban referral fashion. Smart casual is redefined with washed sporty double button cotton blazers with peak lapels. Worn with sturdy rinsed washed jeans you are set for the city! Brushed cotton tweed bomber jacket with fine nylon sleeves are also available. Smart tailored suits give off an intellectual look – pure woollen suits with peak lapel blazers with double vents. The men's collection is designed for men aged 27 to 40 who are fashion conscious, optimistic, confident and open-minded.
