Jakarta Java Kini is proud to announce the second of its 'Uncorked' Wine Appreciation classes. Working in conjunction with wine store Vin +, and our wine columnist Simone Baldwin, JJK will demystify the process of wine appreciation by adopting a fun, no nonsense approach to wine education.

Participants will be encouraged to nurture their sense of smell, touch, taste and sight in order to understand and appreciate wine. Everyone has the necessary "tools" to learn how to identify what is in a glass of wine.

JJK's wine columnist, Simone, was raised on her family's vineyard in Australia, has a wine degree and has had 8 years in the industry. "Anyone can learn about wine", Simone says. "This idea that wine appreciation has to be an exclusive snobby affair is silly. Everyone has a nose, and everyone has a palate. And that's really all you need to understand and appreciate wine."

The course will begin in November and run for 6 weeks, meeting for 2 hours every Wednesday evening. If you are unable to attend on Wednesday, a make-up class will be offered on Thursday, if there is enough demand. Students will be provided with study materials and notes. Students will be presented with a certificate upon completion of the course and may proceed to the next course.

Cost: Rp. 2,500,000 per person, per 6-week session.
